PRIVATE HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT
Our private hydroelectric power plant supplies us with clean, renewable and cost-efficient energy, and can do so for generations to come.
BHKW COGENERATION PLANT
Our CHP plant converts sources such as gas, oil and wood into green electricity and heat, producing approximately 120 kW per hour – equivalent to the yearly electricity needs of circa 40 four-person families.
PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM
Our photovoltaic system supplies energy for the hotel.
GARDEN IRRIGATION
Our garden is watered using mainly rainwater – our rainwater harvesting system allows for a 50% reduction in water consumption.
WATER-SAVING PERLATORS
All shower heads and taps are equipped with water-saving aerators, which allow us to cut water consumption significantly.
CLEANING AGENTS
Our detergents and cleaning agents are bought in large canisters, and dosed in just the right amount using a dosing system. This makes the washing and cleaning processes more efficient and helps us reduce plastic waste.
LED LIGHTING
We use a modern LED lighting system throughout our hotel (both indoor and outdoor lighting), which is controlled by sensors and dedicated software to optimise energy consumption. LED lights last circa 25 times longer than other light sources, and defective units are recycled rather than disposed of. This makes our use of electricity very efficient and allows us to reduce waste caused by defective lamps.
INTELLIGENT ENERGY OPTIMISATION SYSTEM
Our air conditioning and ventilation systems, refrigerators, kitchen appliances, washing machines and dryers, and sauna ovens are all controlled by a smart energy optimisation system that ensures maximum energy efficiency at all times.
INTELLIGENT ROOM CONTROL
Our smart room management system maintains the perfect temperature in the guest rooms and all other hotel areas, while our heat recovery system recycles return-air energy from the ventilation and heating systems.
FAN COIL AND COOLING UNITS
Fan coil units and cooling systems are cleaned and serviced several times a year to guarantee efficient operation.
MINIBAR WITH TIME PROGRAMMING
Minibars in the guest rooms are time-programmed to deactivate at night to reduce energy consumption.
REGIONAL AND SEASONAL PRODUCTS
The foodstuffs we serve are mostly locally sourced and seasonal to reduce transport routes.
BIODEGRADABLE DRINKING STRAWS
Our bartenders only use biodegradable straws for our cocktails and drinks.
QUELLENHOF ELECTRIC SHUTTLE
The Quellenhof fleet consists mostly of electric cars and shuttle buses, which are charged here on hotel grounds.
CHARGING STATIONS FOR ELECTRIC CARS
Guests can charge their electric vehicles using our own charging stations, as well as hire our electric bikes, motorbikes and cars.
CERTIFIED ORGANIC NATURAL PRODUCTS
For our spa treatments we use exclusively cosmetics from natural, certified-organic ingredients. Toiletry sets with EARTH FIRST – ZERO WASTE natural body care products are provided in every bathroom.
WASHING CHANGES
We encourage our guests to reduce the amount of laundry by making linen change requests a mindful choice.
WASTE DISPOSAL
We separate waste scrupulously, making sure that our team are appropriately instructed.
DIGITAL CONCIERGE
The digital concierge has replaced the printed version of our guest guide; it provides exhaustive information about our area, activity options offered by partner establishments, and our weekly programme (excursions, Body & Mind activities), which can now be accessed at all times on any device.
